Overcharged
Experience the debut of Overcharged, a special exhibition featuring works by 18 teen artists from the New Orleans region, co-curated by Dancing Grounds and the CAC. The exhibition will open on April 20 with the 2022 Dance for Social Change Festival: Through Our Eyes, and will remain on view at the CAC through June 19, 2022.
What lingering feelings do you have surrounding the pandemic? What do you envision for yourself and your community in the future?
These were questions posed to teen artist artists who submitted work to the CAC's annual 2022 Teen Open Call exhibition. Co-curated by the CAC and Dancing Grounds, Overcharged is a visual art and mixed media exhibit by impressive teens from across the New Orleans region. This collection of new work examines the range of emotions and experiences youth have lived during the pandemic and explores pathways for healing and recovery.
The exhibit will be on view at the CAC’s first floor Atrium gallery from April 20-June 19, 2022.
Check out WWLTV's interviews with CAC staff about the exhibition, below.
