The Black Ophelia: Film Screening & Live Music Performances

The Black Ophelia chronicles a “grief walk” from the Black femme perspective, exploring the dignity of fragility in mourning. The work is part of "The Gorgeous Offerings," a series of rituals, sacred spaces, workshops, and community gatherings created by CAC artists-in-residence Renee Benson and Jennifer Sargent to support healing from the loss and disorientation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Black Ophelia Film Screening also features artist performances by Mahalia Abéo Tibbs, Renee Benson and a special musical tribute to Janese Galeth Brooks and Spirit McIntyre by Charm Taylor. This event is Free with an RSVP.
