2023 Artist Residencies

Apply today for the CAC's visual and performing arts residencies

APPLICATION DEADLINE: APRIL 21, 2023

The CAC is thrilled to announce the call for submissions for our 2023 Artist Residency cohort. Our Residencies offer time, space, professional resources, exhibition and performance opportunities for both visual and performing artists in New Orleans. Performing artists are invited to advance work in progress with rehearsal time in the CAC's Black Box Theater and support from CAC technical and curatorial staff. Visual artists are invited to advance existing bodies of work and/or create new work with curatorial and site specific installation support. The performing residents are provided the opportunity to perform public work-in-process showings, while visual artists present new works as part of the CAC's annual SOLOS exhibition, alongside the Gulf South Open Call.

Two performing artists/companies and two visual artists/collectives will be selected for participation. Each of the selected artists/companies will be paid a $1000 honoraria in addition to curatorial, technical, and communication support valued at $3000 each. How to apply: Please fill out a submission form based on your medium. Once submissions have been closed, CAC staff will reach out to second round applicants with a request for a zoom interview the week of April 28.
