Sarah Sole (b. 1965, New Orleans, LA) is a painter, living and working in New Orleans. She works in the genre of contemporary portraiture, sourcing material from the political imaginary and has a particular fascination with Hillary Clinton. Before moving back to New Orleans, Sarah spent ten years in New York City showing work at various venues including Cooper Union, OK Harris, PS 122, Marymount Manhattan College and the Philoctetes Center. She earned an MFA in Fine Art from the School of Visual Arts and a Fellowship in Drawing from the New York Foundation for the Arts. She was also a resident of the Vermont Studio Center and the Painting Space program at PS122. She had her first solo show at Coup d’Oeill Art Consortium in New Orleans and is very excited to be part of the “Mark of the Feminine” exhibit at the Contemporary Arts Center.
