Letitia Huckaby’s work deals with faith, family and legacy. It is a time capsule for the African-American experience. There is always a history built into the pieces, whether through process or actual materials such as heirloom fabrics. Since obtaining a master’s degree from the University of North Texas in 2010, Huckaby has exhibited as an emerging artist at the Dallas Contemporary and Galveston Arts Center in Texas, Renaissance Fine Art in Harlem, New York (curated by Deborah Willis, Ph.D.), McKenna Museum in New Orleans, Camden Palace Hotel in Cork City, Ireland, Texas Biennial at Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum, Anzenberger Gallery in Vienna, Austria, and New Orleans Center for Creative Arts during PhotoNola annual photography festival. Huckaby’s work is included in several prestigious collections: Library of Congress, Art Museum of Southeast Texas, Brandywine Workshop in Philadelphia, and the Samella Lewis Contemporary Art Collection at Scripps College in Claremont, California. Huckaby is represented by the Liliana Bloch Gallery in Dallas and the Anzenberger Gallery in Vienna, Austria.
