Born in New Orleans, LA in 1983 and raised in Mid-City and Birmingham, Alabama, Kyle Eyre Clyd's work draws on the histories of electroaucoustic performance, meditative drone, performance art, music concrete, beatnik mind expansion techniques, and American folk melancholy. She holds a BFA from the Cooper Union where she studied performance and film in the expanding field of sculpture and is expected to receive an MFA from Bard College in Music/Sound in 2016.
She tours regularly and has presented work in a variety of fine art and underground contexts such as The Stone, Issue Project Room, PPOW Gallery, & Sculpture Center in New York. She regularly performs and presents locally at venues such as Mudlark Public Theater, and Good Children Gallery. She has produced recorded works for HALATERN, etc. as well as her own label, Trepanner. She has been interviewed for Time Out, Vice, The Village Voice, Magnet Magazine, et al. Her music has appeared on WFMU, Wave Farm radio, and on college radio stations worldwide.
