Joshua Walsh

Joshua Walsh was born in Detroit, Michigan. He began his art career at a young age, attending Center for Creative Studies in Detroit at the age of 15.

Walsh was awarded top artist scholarships to the University of Nebraska, and studied intensely under Reinhold Marxhausen, master of art and creativity. He studied a semester in Europe, traveling throughout France, Germany, Holland, and Italy. Under the influence of the old masters, Walsh incorporates elements of light and composition that are prominently featured in his work. Walsh moved to New Orleans in 1993 to pursue his art career full time. He plans to spend the next 20 plus years actively seeking out New Orleans culture and recording everyday life through painting, drawing, and sculpture.
