The Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans (CAC) announced today the appointment of MK Wegmann as its Interim Executive Director. 

Her appointment will begin November 1, 2018 to allow for a brief overlap with outgoing director Neil Barclay, who formally departs at the end of the year.

Ms. Wegmann, who served as the CAC’s co-director and associate director from 1977-1991, is a consultant for many non-profit, arts organizations across the United States. Most recently, Ms. Wegmann served as President and CEO of the National Performance Network/Visual Artists Network from 2000-2016. Ms. Wegmann has over forty years of experience in organizational development, artists services, planning, multi-disciplinary presenting and producing, and arts administration in non-profit visual and performing arts organizations. She is a life-long resident of the city and a committed advocate for the arts in New Orleans.  Debbie Brockley, Board Chair says, “We are delighted that someone of MK’s experience with the arts and stature in the arts community is joining us as Interim Director.” 

The Board of Trustees of the CAC plans to commence a national search for a permanent executive director this Fall.
