Veronica Ibargüengoitia was born in Mexico City. She paints in oil in three-dimensional shaped canvas in different formats. Her work is about architectural spaces and forced perspectives creating new geometric places. Ibargüengoitia is part of the Glassell School of Arts fellow Block XX program from The Museum of Fine Arts Houston and is the recipient of the 2020 Houston Artadia Fellows Award. Ibargüengoitia has a Certificate in Painting and Sculpture from the Glassell School of Arts MFAH and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design by Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in diverse juried exhibitions. Ibargüengoitia is a member of the Visual Arts Alliance, Latin American Women Artists in Houston, and Sociedad Mexicana de Autores de las Artes Plasticas, Mexico. She is Regional Workshop Coordinator for Asociacion Mexicana al Servicio Integral de la Familia Houston AMSIF a program helping immigrants in their education and development in 23 locations in Houston . Ibarguengoitia is currently working on built-up shaped canvases in an ongoing project of windows connecting the vision of different people across the globe to her vision. She lives and works in Houston, TX.
