Join us on the CAC's rooftop deck for a drink and chat with Senior Curator of Performing Arts, Laurie Uprichard, as she shares insights on Trisha Brown Dance Company’s Trisha Brown: In Plain Site, opening Friday, October 13.

Young Professionals Happy Hour Meet-up – 6:30pm–7:30pm, Lobby

Hear from members of the Paul S. Rosenblum Healthcare Institute to learn about the organization’s interactive and engaging five-week series for young professionals that provides the opportunity to learn about Touro Infirmary, best leadership practices and the overall landscape of healthcare in New Orleans.

Andrea Andersson, Ph.D., The Helis Foundation Chief Curator of Visual Arts, discusses Artaud’s Metamorphosis: From Hieroglyphs to Bodies without Organs with author Jay Murphy. Book signing and light refreshments will follow the conversation.

Hosted in partnership with Press Club of New Orleans and Prospect New Orleans, this discussion brings together artists, journalists and art critics to explore the influence of journalism within the realm of art. Panelists include D. Eric Bookhardt (Gambit Weekly), Gia Hamilton (Joan Mitchell Center), Tameka Norris (Artist, Scholar), Trevor Schoonmaker (Prospect New Orleans), Melanie Warner Spencer (Renaissance Publishing), and Charlie Tatum (Pelican Bomb).

Tribute – 9-9:20pm, Lobby

Vocalist Mykia Jovan performs a special acoustic set with guitarist Joy Clark and dancer Major Nesby that pays tribute to the late Trisha Brown and to those we’ve lost.
