Whole Heart Productions presents HOME GROWN: Journeys of Euphoria, with support from the Contemporary Arts Center's Performance Support Program.
HOME GROWN: Journeys of Euphoria is a dance production highlighting the persistence and dedication of New Orleans native performing artists. It’s a celebration of the people and culture that define a city. A true artist loves to master their craft and pursue their dreams, and for New Orleans natives, whether they choose to stay or relocate, the culture of their hometown will remain a part of all they do.
The showcase highlights a blend of dance styles that will take the audience on a journey through the infectious energy and colorful Creole, Spanish, French, and West African influences of the city. Each of the six performances throughout the night feature talented dancers and choreographers raised here in New Orleans. After the final performance, there will be an opportunity for a 30-minute talk back with the show’s choreographers.
The performances will feature choreography from Francine E. Ott, Monique Moss, Billy G. Mims-Goodman, and Giselle Nakhid. Artists Tré Thomas, Donald Surtain, Jawara Simon, and Gian F. Smith are also joining the event as special guest performers.
