View CAC Renovation Plans

October 7, 2016 to August 1, 2017

The Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans (CAC) announces a renovation project and new tenant, The Domain Companies, in the Besthoff Building at 900 Camp Street.

The project will take place between October 2016 and August 2017. It will allow for significant improvements to existing spaces and for the addition of new spaces for the presentation of both Visual Arts and Performing Arts programming at the CAC. The project will include: Renovation of joined historic warehouses into finished space for performances, exhibitions, and events; Expansion of the first floor gallery space to double the size of the existing footprint; and Renovation of the entire third and fourth floors for occupancy by a new tenant, The Domain Companies’ co-working development, The Shop.

INFO SESSION: ArtPrize Pitch Night New Orleans

Louisiana artists are invited to learn more about the Pitch Night grant program on March 30 at 7pm at the CAC.

ArtPrize is teaming up with the the Contemporary Arts Center, New Orleans to host Pitch Night, a one-night event—June 5 at 7pm—where an artist will leave with a $5,000 grant to create an ambitious installation at a centrally located ArtPrize Venue.

Kid Koala is a world-renowned scratch DJ, music producer, and award winning graphic novelist. He has released four solo albums on Ninja Tune, the most recent being 12 bit Blues. He has also released two graphic novels: Nufonia Must Fall and Space Cadet. He has also been involved in such collaborations as Gorillaz, Deltron 3030, and The Slew.

The CAC presents An Evening with Shalita Grant

The Juilliard-trained and Tony Award-nominated theater and television actress performs the standards in an intimate cabaret show. This one-of-a-kind evening will benefit the CAC’s Performing Arts Season, which will be announced to event patrons.
