DANCING GROUNDS: DANCE FOR SOCIAL CHANGE
Dance for Social Change (DSC) is a unique arts and leadership program for New Orleans’ high school students that teaches young people how to use their artistic talents to advocate for change in their communities. The program develops self- and
social awareness, new artistic skills, and tools for social justice organizing. DSC is a collaboration between Dancing Grounds, New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) faculty, Junebug Productions, youth leaders, and other local organizations
from across the city of New Orleans. The 2018 theme chosen by program participants is Breaking Through the Stigma of Mental Health.
